Desexing costs demystified

What does my pet actually need during desexing/sterilisation surgery?

The cost of veterinary care varies hugely and it is often a case of “you get what you pay for”. It can, however, be quite difficult to work out what you are actually getting.

Here are things I would consider for my own pet and how important I feel that they are. Please note that these comments are my personal opinion, they are reflective of best veterinary practice and in line with guidelines set down by the WSAVA and AVMA. Discuss your individual pet’s specific requirements with your vet

Bear in mind that the cost of pet sterilisation is typically hugely discounted by veterinarians as a form of community service. This allows all pet owners to access this important procedures at an affordable price.
